Background

The Soundsteps Music School concept was founded in 1991 by Nigel Blyth, a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a professional concert pianist, keyboard player and teacher. Since the school was founded over 16,000 children have learnt the Soundsteps way and have experienced the benefits of our unique teaching methods. Today there is an ever-increasing demand for children to learn through Soundsteps’ dynamic and fun approach.

The market

There is currently very little competition in this field. Our experience has shown that there is a great demand for this type of service for children of primary school age. There are an estimated 10 million children in the UK under 14 years old. Music is as popular as ever and almost half of all children will take lessons at some point in their lives*. After the recorder, children are most interested in learning the keyboard/piano.* We provide franchisees with a proven and unique marketing strategy for recruiting pupils.
